This was on feministing like 6 months ago.. I haven’t heard any more about it, though. I wonder if they took down the ads?

    Where was this taken at?

As…crass as this sounds…it’d be so tempting to find one of those in my area so I could get around the whole banned-from-owning-a-scale. But somehow I doubt they’re around here, and my wife would have a fit anyway if she caught me at that.
I know mamaV’s opinion on ‘personal responsibility’ when it comes to triggering material, but…for ’s sake, doesn’t this cross the line?
Two distinct viewpoints, I know, but they both occurred to me.

This is totally stupid, the majority of people go to the gym to get fit, not skinny, and fit = muscle = heavy
You’d think a gym would focus its advertising on fitness over weight
And if someone doesn’t want to have their weight shown, they’d have to stand. Where’s the fairness in that?

Fully realizing the tools available to edit photos, I was skeptical as to the validity of the above photo. I followed the link to the source MamaVision provided and was led to another blog. After I watched a video, of the women with the red jacket in the picture actually sitting on the scale on YouTube, I am less questioning.
