I want to thank all of the gracious women who have read my blog and commented from their heart. This blog has truly become a part of me, and its because of all the positive feedback, that I plan kick this thing into high gear 2007.
My New Years resolutions? None.
The word resolution means to me that something needs to be fixed. I am whole. If you are not, I hope 2007 will be the year that you evolve to this place. You can get there, if you just get started today. Living with eating disorder is pure hell, and there is a better life out there for you, I am living proof of that.
So, here’s what I plan to be doing to add to my life and hopefully inspire yours:
I plan to lead Uniquely Me, a Dove program designed to boost girls self esteem and keep them on the right path when it comes to body image, and beauty. My daughter will be 7 this year, so her Brownie troop will be a perfect age to start planting the positive seeds. Check this out yourself, perhaps this is something you or a friend may be interested in leading.
Web 2.0 Site
I’ve been working on a web site for the past 9 months, designed to help parents and children communicate online. I hope to launch the site into beta testing Q1, and then see where this adventure leads me. 50% of all revenues will go direct to children’s charities, and other 50% will hopefully let me keep the site up and running. I’ve had an entire team working for $0, just because they believed in the concept, and because they are great, generous people. I would love to pay them all back for their hard work this year.
Yoga, Yoga, Yoga
I’ve had chronic neck pain for the past 10 years, nothing helps. This year I found out that I have a benign growth at T1 which may or may not be causing my pain. Bottom line – its yoga or surgery. The day my doctor told me that Yoga may help, is the day I started. Haven’t missed a day since (in fact I need to get off this computer to do my evening routine). As a mother of two, the last thing I want to sucumb to is neck surgery, ain’t going to happen.
Yoga is absolutely amazing. I am not cured, but I feel a heck of a lot better. Plus my stress level is under control. I am a believer Yoga could be of great use to you if you suffer from an eating disorder. You will become mindful, more in touch with your self, and likely more positive about the world and yourself. What do you have to lose? Here’s a few of my favorites if you care to give it a try:
Great video for beginners, 15 minutes in the morning, 20 at night. Doesn’t get any easier.
My husband bought me this one for Christmas, sounds kind of weird, but have an open mind. The short program is led by a husband and wife team, the commentary they give during the workout is really interesting. Did you know that 70% of disease is caused by stress? I figure I should be half dead by now.
To a great year.
